Jennifer Budd
Fibre art
Vibrant landscapes in fibre art
Jennifer Budd, born in Scotland and now living in Ontario, is an award-winning fibre artist, whose practice draws on the ancient method of feltmaking. “Painting with wool”, Jennifer creates vibrant landscapes of her birthplace, Scotland, and of Canada, her new home. Each landscape is wetfelted using wool and silk then embellished with needlefelting, freemotion machine embroidery and hand stitching. Engaging with such a tactile medium allows Jennifer to connect deeply with her work, forging a connection between the maker and the viewer.
