Bryan Schmidt
Woodworking

Ontario hardwood charcuterie and cutting boards

Bryan's work features handcrafted cutting, cheese, baguette and charcuterie boards from Ontario hardwoods, including Black Walnut, Black Cherry, Maple (Curly, Birdseye, Spalted, Ambrosia), Apple, Elm and others. His boards emphasize the beauty and intrinsic art form in the various grain patterns of the wood he chooses. His boards bridge the gap between art and utility and are one of a kind. The final finish, a beeswax/hemp oil product that Bryan makes himself, is handrubbed, leaving a gentle, foodsafe patina.
